The Ganpati festival gave a boost to box-office collections in the week gone by. The Ganesh Chaturthi holiday on Monday (14th September) in many parts of the country saw box-office collections taking only a slight jump as the holiday advantage was offset, to a large extent, by the disadvantage of many people not going to the cinemas because of the festivities and visits to the homes of relatives and friends.
Haiwaan fared miserably in the first week all over. It will entail heavy losses to all concerned. The start itself was dull and collections only declined because the public reports were bad. It could not even do well in the first weekend which closed at Rs. 5 crore only. The film netted just Rs. 2 crore during the weekdays. Therefore, the first week closed at a paltry Rs. 7 crore.

Mirzapur The Movie did very well in the second week too and joined the Rs. 200-crore club before the week closed. The second weekend commenced with a take of Rs. 9.50 crore on Friday. Collections increased to Rs. 13.30 crore on Saturday. Sunday closed at Rs. 13.10 crore. Therefore, the total for the second weekend was Rs. 35.90 crore. The figures for the weekdays were: Monday – Rs. 5.60 crore, Tuesday – Rs. 5.25 crore, Wednesday – Rs. 3.70 crore, Thursday – Rs. 3.80 crore. In this way, the total for the weekdays was Rs. 18.35 crore. Hence the second week closed at Rs. 54.25 crore. Grand total for 2 weeks: Rs. 206.80 crore.
Hanuman Ansh continued its super-meritorious run in 6th week also. The sixth weekend started with a take of Rs. 9.96 crore on Friday. Collections on Saturday and Sunday jumped to Rs. 18.14 crore and Rs. 20.89 crore respectively, taking the sixth weekend total to Rs. 48.99 crore! Collections for the weekdays were as follows: Monday – Rs. 7.65 crore, Tuesday – Rs. 7.45 crore, Wednesday – Rs. 5.25 crore, Thursday – Rs. 5.30 crore. With the total for the weekdays being Rs. 25.65 crore, the sixth week closed at an extraordinary Rs. 74.64 crore. Grand total for 6 weeks: Rs. 227.58 crore.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day (dubbed and the original English versions) netted Rs. 0.77 crore in the seventh weekend, and another Rs. 0.46 crore during the weekdays. In this way, the total for 7th week was Rs. 1.23 crore. Grand total for 7 weeks: Rs. 502.87 crore.
The Odyssey (dubbed and the original English versions) netted Rs. 0.72 crore in the ninth weekend, and an additional Rs. 0.44 crore during the weekdays. Hence the total for 9th week was Rs. 1.16 crore. Grand total for 9 weeks: Rs. 190.05 crore.
Jayanti 2 (Marathi) did fairly well in the first week in Maharashtra.
Bhata (Marathi) failed to make any mark in 1st week in Maharashtra.
