R.A.W. did fair business in the first week but its second week’s business will decide its box-office fate. It collected Rs. 5.35 crore on the opening day. Collections jumped 35%, to Rs. 7.25 crore on Saturday. The jump was partly due to the Gudi Padwa holiday. Collections on Sunday were Rs. 8.25 crore. Hence the first weekend closed at Rs. 20.85 crore. Collections during the weekdays were: Monday – Rs. 2.70 crore, Tuesday – Rs. 2.40 crore, Wednesday – Rs. 2.15 crore, Thursday – Rs. 1.90 crore. By adding Rs. 9.15 crore during the weekdays, it took its first week’s total to Rs. 30 crore.

No Fathers In Kashmir failed miserably in the first week in Bombay.

Shazam! (dubbed) and the Eng­lish original of the same name netted Rs. 3 crore on the first day. Collections increased 40% on the second day (Gudi Padwa holiday), to Rs. 4.20 crore. Collections on Sunday were Rs. 4.10 crore. In this way, the first weekend closed at Rs. 11.30 crore. Collections during the weekdays were as follows: Monday – Rs. 1.50 crore, Tuesday – Rs. 1.30 crore, Wednesday – Rs. 1.25 crore, Thursday – Rs. 1.15 crore. The film, therefore, collected Rs. 5.20 crore during the weekdays. Its first week’s total was Rs. 16.50 crore.

Junglee fell almost 90% in 2nd week. It collected only Rs. 0.40 crore on the second Friday. Its collections on Saturday were Rs. 0.65 crore, and on Sunday, Rs. 0.95 crore. In other words, it netted Rs. 2 crore in the second weekend. Its collections on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday were Rs. 0.30 crore, Rs. 0.28 crore, Rs. 0.27 crore, and Rs. 0.25 crore respectively. By netting Rs. 1.10 crore during the weekdays, the film took its 2nd week’s total to Rs. 3.10 crore. Grand total for 2 weeks: Rs. 24.30 crore. The film will entail losses to its producers/distributors.

Kesari collected Rs. 1.60 crore on the first day of the third weekend. Collections increased to Rs. 2.60 crore on Saturday, and further to Rs. 3.25 crore on Sunday, taking the third weekend’s total to Rs. 7.45 crore. Its collections in the weekdays were: Monday – Rs. 1 crore, Tuesday – Rs. 0.95 crore, Wednesday – Rs. 0.95 crore, Thursday – Rs. 0.95 crore. By adding Rs. 3.85 crore in the week­ days, the film took its third week’s total to Rs. 11.30 crore. Its grand total for 3 weeks went up to Rs. 146.76 crore.

Badla netted Rs. 1.65 crore in the fifth weekend and another Rs. 0.80 crore in the weekdays. By netting a total of Rs. 2.45 crore in the fifth week, it has taken its 5-week total to Rs. 86.13 crore.

Junglee did fair business in the first week but not enough to emerge an earning proposal. The second week’s collections will determine whether the film will break even but it does look difficult. The film started with a take of Rs. 3.35 crore on Friday. Collections increased by around 35% on Saturday which closed at Rs. 4.45 crore. The jump in collections on Sunday was around 35% over the Saturday collections. The third day, therefore, closed at Rs. 6.05 crore, taking the first weekend’s total to Rs. 13.85 crore. Collections on the weekdays were: Monday – Rs. 2.40 crore, Tuesday – Rs. 1.90 crore, Wednesday – Rs. 1.55 crore, Thursday – Rs. 1.50 crore. With a total of Rs. 7.35 crore for the weekdays, the first week’s total went up to Rs. 21.20 crore. The film needs to collect around Rs. 20 crore more to break even.

Notebook has proved to be a disaster. It opened extremely slow, picked up during the weekend but did nothing substantial. It fared poorly during the weekdays. It opened with a collection of Rs. 0.50 crore. Collections on Saturday and Sunday were Rs. 0.75 crore and Rs. 1 crore respectively. In this way, the first weekend closed at Rs. 2.25 crore. Collections during the weekdays were: Monday – Rs. 0.42 crore, Tuesday – Rs. 0.37 crore, Wednesday – Rs. 0.34 crore, Thursday – Rs. 0.32 crore. By adding Rs. 1.45 crore to the kitty during the weekdays, the film took its first week’s total to only Rs. 3.70 crore.

Gone Kesh turned out to be a gone case at the box-office. Its collections in the first week were miserable.

Ram Ki Janmabhoomi turned out to be a disaster at the ticket windows in 1st week.

Railway Raju was a flop show in the first week in Bombay.
