‘26 NOVEMBER’ (MARATHI) REVIEW | 9 May, 2025

Jambudweep Production’s 26 November (Marathi; UA) is the story of a 32-year-old engineer. Aditya Deshmukh (Aniket Vishwasrao) is an engineer who faces abuse and injustice at his work place. Corrupt superiors push him to compromise his principles but he refuses. Why, Aditya is firm in his resolve to fight for equality and justice even when a powerful minister promises him rewards for doing the wrong. All along, Aditya is inspired by Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar, the architect of the Indian Constitution.

Sachin Shobha Urade has written a story which does not have much entertainment value. Rather, it is dry. Santosh More and Parag Jawade’s screenplay is weak. The drama looks contrived rather than seamless. Further, it fails to evoke emotions of any kind in the audience. Sachin Shobha Urade, Santosh More and Nilesh Dharmapal Onkar’s dialogues are good at some places.

Aniket Vishwasrao is okay as Aditya Deshmukh. Jui Jawade is so-so as Shravani Deodhar. Sayaji Shinde lends average support as Diwan. Ganesh Yadav is okay as the police inspector. Bharat Ganeshpure is adequate as the advocate. Mushtaq Khan is alright as Pratap Rao Deshmukh. Vijay Patkar passes muster as opposition leader Nagar. Dr. Vilas Ujavane is so-so as Prabhakar. Anjali Ujavane is routine as the advocate. Kishor Chougule makes a reasonable mark. Others fit the bill.

Sachin Shobha Urade’s direction is below the mark. Music (by Amar Prabhakar Desai and Swapnil Rajesh Chaudhari) is so-so. Lyrics (Nilesh Dharmapal Onkar and Sachin Shobha Urade) are routine. Kausar Sheikh’s choreography is average. Swapnil Rajesh Chaudhari’s background music is hardly anything to dance about. Jitendra Achrekar’s camerawork is fair. Usman Ansari and Mohit Shahani’s action and stunt scenes are not very exciting. Mukesh Singh’s art direction is routine. Kunal Dilip Prabhu’s editing leaves a lot to be desired.

On the whole, 26 November is a flop fare.
