Acting suo moto, the Bangalore police on February 22 arrested Kannada film actor Chetan Kumar Ahimsa for a tweet in which he had allegedly cast aspersions on a Karnataka high court judge who is part of a full bench hearing the hijab petitions.
M.N. Anuchet, DCP (Central), said that the actor was arrested after the police registered a suo moto case against him over the derogatory posts, and was booked under sections 505 (statements conducing to public mischief) and 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of peace) of the IPC.
