AJIT KUMAR KASLIWAL NO MORE | 19 November, 2020

C.I. exhibitor Ajit Kumar Kasliwal, owner of Smriti and Kusum cinemas of Indore, passed away this morning (19th November) in Indore due to age-related problems. He was in his eighties and is survived by his wife, two daughters and their families. His only son, Sanjay Kasliwal, had been killed in a road accident more than three decades ago.

Ajit Kasliwal was the elder son of exhibitor Dev Kumar Singh Kasliwal. Ajit Kasliwal’s only younger brother, exhibitor Pradeep Kasliwal, had died of COVID-19 complications on 5th September. Ajit and Pradeep Kasliwal were the brothers-in-law of producer-distributor-exhibitor Kamal Kumar Barjatya.

Ajit Kasliwal’s cremation will take place this evening at 4 p.m. in Kastur cinema compound. Astha, Kastur and Anop cinemas are owned by Pradeep Kasliwal’s family. It is the tradition of the Kasliwal family to cremate the family members in the cinema compound. Dev Kumar Singh Kasliwal, Sanjay Kasliwal and Pradeep Kasliwal were likewise cremated in the compound of Kastur cinema.

Besides being an exhibitor, Ajit Kasliwal was a name to reckon with in social circles because of his social service.
