ALEC BALDWIN’S FREAK ACCIDENT ON SET OF HOLLYWOOD FILM KILLS CINEMATOGRAPHER, INJURES DIRECTOR | 22 October, 2021

Hollywood star Alec Baldwin accidentally fired a prop gun while filming a scene in New Mexico yesterday (21st October) on the set of Rust, causing the death of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins, and wounding director Joel Souza. The film was being shot at the Bonanza Creek Ranch, south of Santa Fe.

Hutchins, 42, was rushed by helicopter to a hospital in Albuquerque, where she died. The 48-year-old Joel was taken by ambulance to a medical centre in Santa Fe, where he received emergency treatment for his injuries.

Alec Baldwin was in tears when he was interrogated by investigators. No arrests were made. Incidentally, Baldwin is a co-producer of the film and plays an infamous outlaw, Rust, whose 13-year-old grandson is convicted of an accidental murder.
