Well-known filmmaker Ali Abbas Zafar got married to his girlfriend, Alicia, at a private ceremony on 3rd January at his Dehradun home. He reached Dehradun from Delhi where he was shooting a Netflix film being co-produced by him and Himanshu Mehra with the OTT platform. Before Delhi, Ali Abbas shot the film in Chandigarh.
In view of the COVID restrictions, the ceremony was attended by his parents and few relatives and friends. His own brother, Shams, could not attend the wedding as he was held up in the UK due to the flights between India and the UK being cancelled because of the new COVID strain.
Alicia is an Iranian from France. The two had been dating for a year before they formalised their relationship on 3rd January.
