The Andhra Pradesh government has waived off the electricity charges for all cinemas in the state for the months of April, May and June 2020. The government has also given cinemas an option for deferred payments of the charges from July to December 2020.
The relief measures were announced to help single-screen cinemas and multiplexes from the losses incurred due to the lockdown following the coronavirus pandemic.
