There are no naysayers left in the market now because everyone — repeat, everyone — is sold out on the trailer of the Ranbir Kapoor starrer.
Suddenly, after the trailer made the scene yesterday (24th November), people in the trade started hazarding guesses about the initial of Animal. “It will open big,” said one trade person. Another remarked, “30 crore on day 1 is a given!” A producer who is not connected with the film or its artistes declared, “I can foresee a first day of 40 crore. It’s going to be huge, man!”
The trailer not only presents Ranbir Kapoor in an avatar one has never before seen him in but also promises something unique in terms of its content. The emotional angle seems to be embedded in the father-son (Anil Kapoor-Ranbir Kapoor) relationship. Bobby Deol is another actor whom the trade is excited about after watching him in the film’s trailer.
One filmmaker summed up the public sentiments when he opined, “Ranbir should be doing more stuff like Animal. Why does he keep experimenting instead of doing hardcore commercial cinema?” It may be mentioned here that people who haven’t frequented cinemas since several years, have made a mental note of the release date of Animal. For, this is the film for which they will return to the big screen for sure.
With just one Hindi film — Kabir Singh — to his credit so far, Sandeep Reddy Vanga had become a household name because that film had a different kind of magic and impact on the audience.
