Union minister Ramdas Athawale on 28th September said that his party, RPI(A), would stage a protest if the police did not arrest filmmaker Anurag Kashyap in a week, regarding the rape charges levelled against him by actress Payal Ghosh. The minister met joint commissioner of police (law and order) Vishwas Nangre Patil, with Payal. Athawale said that he would write to the home minister, seeking protection for the actress.
