The artistes protesting outside the Jayprabha Studio in Kolhapur since the last 11 days, said on February 23 that the administration should reclaim the iconic site as soon as possible. The indefinite protest has been initiated by the Akhil Bharatiya Marathi Chitrapat Mahamandal. The ABMCM is upset that the Kolhapur Municipal Corporation does not have the funds to buy the studio back from the private owner. The civic officials on February 23 claimed that it would be better for the state government to buy the studio and develop it.
