Veteran Gujarati film actor Arvind Trivedi passed away last night (5th October) in Bombay due to heart attack and consequent organ failure. He had been suffering from age-related illnesses since some time. He was 82. He was cremated this morning (6th). Although he had acted in more than 300 Gujarati and Hindi films, he gained the maximum popularity as Raavan in Ramanand Sagar’s TV serial, Ramayan.
Not only was Arvind Trivedi a superb actor but also a very fine human being. He and his actor-brother Upendra Trivedi served the Gujarati film industry for decades. Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid tributes to Trivedi when he tweeted this morning that Arvind Trivedi was not only an exceptional actor but was also passionate about public service.
Among the Gujarati films Arvind Trivedi had acted in are Jesal Toral, Hothal Padmini, Desh Re Joya Dada Pardesh Joya, Shetal Ne Kanthe, Santu Rangili, Maniyaro etc. Among his Hindi films are Paraya Dhan, Jangal Mein Mangal, Aaj Ki Taaza Khabar and Hum Tere Aashiq Hain. He was also seen in TV serials Vikram Aur Betaal and Vishwamitra.
In May this year, there was a rumour about Arvind Trivedi having passed away.
