Aryan Khan, son of superstar Shah Rukh Khan, will have to spend one more night in Arthur Road jail as he was not released today. The deadline for the bail order to reach the bail box of the prison could not be met. The deadline for the order to be deposited in the bail box was 5.30 p.m. but procedural delays came in the way of the same.
Shah Rukh Khan had reached the prison well before time in the hope that the bail order would be dropped in the bail box on time but that was not to be. Meanwhile, the Rs. 1 lakh bond for Aryan’s bail was signed by Juhi Chawla.
The bail order lays down several conditions which Aryan will have to follow, failing which the Narcotics Control Bureau can demand the cancellation of his bail. The conditions include: not indulging in any activity similar to the activities for which the criminal complaint against him for offences under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act stands registered; he shall not establish communication with co-accused or any other person involved in similar activities; he shall not undertake any action which is prejudicial to the proceedings; he shall neither personally or through anyone make any attempt to influence witnesses nor tamper with evidence; he shall surrender his passport to the special NDPS court immediately; he shall not make any comments regarding the court proceedings, in the media; he shall not leave the country without prior permission from the special judge for NDPS; he shall inform the investigating officer if he has to go out of Greater Bombay; he shall attend the Bombay office of the Narcotics Control Bureau between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. every Friday; he shall attend all the dates in the court; he shall join the investigation as and when called upon to do so; he shall not try to delay the trial once it begins.
It may be mentioned here that Aryan Khan alongwith some others was held by the NCB on board a cruise liner on October 2 as a rave party had been arranged on the liner. They were arrested on October 3. After spending a few days in the custody of the NCB, they were remanded to judicial custody. The Bombay high court granted Aryan and two others — Arbaz Merchant and Munmun Dhamecha — bail yesterday (October 28). The stage seemed set for Aryan’s release today but that was not to be. It is now expected that Shah Rukh’s son will return home tomorrow (30th) after almost a month.
