Bajrang Dal workers vandalised the set of web series Ashram 3 yesterday (24th October) and manhandled the crew members in Bhopal where it was being shot. They also damaged vehicles belonging to crew members. Nobody was seriously injured. Reportedly, they also blackened director Prakash Jha’s face by smearing it with black ink. They were agitated because Ashram and Ashram 2, according to them, showed Hindu Godmen and religion in bad light. The members demanded a meeting with hero Bobby Deol too. They wanted to know why director Prakash Jha and hero Bobby Deol were targeting only Hindu religion and did not have the courage to make similar web series, exposing the evils of other religions like Islam and Christianity.
The Dal members have asked Jha to change the title of the web series. They also asked him not to poke fun at the sentiments of the majority in the country.
The Bhopal police said that investigations into the incident would be made. They assured the unit that such miscreants would not be allowed to create nuisance henceforth. Jha did not file a police complaint.
