Saints Art and Kahanikaar Sudhanshu Rai’s Creation’s Baida (UA) is a thriller.
A former spy-turned-salesman is on a sales trip to a rural area in Uttar Pradesh. He gets entangled in a web of dimensional conspiracy when he takes shelter in the cottage of a mysterious man. He finds himself transported to British India where he is scheduled to be hanged. He now uses his spy skills to save himself.
Sudhanshu Rai has penned a story and screenplay, which will appeal to only a thin section of the audience. The drama doesn’t hold the viewers’ attention for long. Even the thrill element is minimal. Dialogues are passable.
Sudhanshu Rai does an average job. He is unable to carry the burden of the film on his shoulders. Sourabh Raaj Jain delivers a routine performance. Hiten Tejwani is natural. Tarun Khanna is okay. Shobhit Sujay lends routine support. Manisha Rai is ordinary. Akhlaq Ahmed, Deepak Wadhwa, Siddharth Banerjee, Pradeep Kabra and the rest pass muster.
Puneet Sharma’s direction is not very convincing. Karthik Chennoji Rao and Ronada Bakkesh’s music is functional. Camerawork (by Abhishek Modak) is average. Kinder Singh’s action and stunt scenes are not very thrilling. Pratheek Shetty’s editing leaves something to be desired.
On the whole, Baida is a flop show.
Released on 21-3-’25 at Metro Inox (daily 1 show) and other cinemas of Bombay thru Panorama Studios. Publicity & opening: poor. …….Also released all over. Opening was dull everywhere.
