A Delhi sessions court recently granted bail to Pinky Irani, who allegedly introduced conman Sukesh Chandrasekhar to Jacqueline Fernandez, in a Rs. 200 crore money laundering case. The court said, no fruitful purpose would be served in keeping the accused in further custody as the investigation with respect to her had been completed and the evidence, which was mostly documentary in nature, had been collected. It also noted that there was no possibility of Irani tampering with the evidence.
The court also made a note of the fact that Pinky Irani was of advanced age. She was granted bail on furnishing a bail bond of Rs. 1 lakh and one surety of like amount.
