A month prior to the firing outside actor Salman Khan’s house at Band Stand, Bandra, Bombay in April this year, another plan had been hatched by the Lawrence Bishnoi gang to kill the actor at his Panvel farmhouse, according to the Navi Mumbai police. A copy of the FIR filed at Panvel police station in Navi Mumbai shows that jailed gangster Bishnoi, his Canada-based cousin, Anmol Bishnoi, and accomplice Goldy Brar had plotted to eliminate Salman Khan by sourcing sophisticated weapons from a Pakistan-based weapon supplier. The reason for abandoning the plan is not known.
The intention was to waylay his vehicle or storm the farmhouse, said police sources. The Navi Mumbai police last week arrested four persons linked to the plot to target Salman before the firing at his Bandra residence in April. The four arrested persons admitted about the plan to eliminate Salman in Panvel. They also revealed many details of the plan which was ultimately not carried out. The police are looking for 15-20 more members of the Bishnoi gang, who stayed in the vicinity of Salman’s Panvel farmhouse since February this year.
The Lawrence Bishnoi gang has been targeting the actor over his involvement in the killing of a black buck in 1998 in Rajasthan during the shooting of Hum Saath Saath Hain. The animal is considered sacred by the Bishnoi tribe.
