After the Bombay high court dismissed Sonu Sood’s appeal and interim application against a BMC notice over allegedly illegally converting his residential building at Juhu in Bombay into a hotel, BMC officials said that the police must register an FIR against the actor and prosecute him. The BMC had on January 4 filed a police complaint against the actor for allegedly converting the six-storey building into a hotel without permissions. The civic body asked the Juhu police to take cognisance of the offence committed by Sonu under the Maharashtra Region and Town Planning (MRTP) Act for unauthorised addition, alterations and change of user.
