A holiday court remanded the three arrested accused to a day’s police custody for allegedly making a hoax bomb threat call on 6th August at the police control room in Bombay, saying that bombs would explode at three main railway stations in the city and at Amitabh Bachchan’s bungalow. When the police picked them up for questioning, they said, they were drunk and had made the phone call for fun and to check how prepared the police were. Two of the three accused have been identified as Raju Kangre (32) and Ramesh Shirsath (28). Both are residents of Dombivli.
The police are analysing their phone call records and making inquiries to check if they were involved in similar crimes in the past. The police had conducted searches for six hours at the four locations and were then convinced that it was a hoax call.
