Gippy Grewal released the trailer of the third film in his blockbuster Carry On Jatta series — Carry On Jatta 3 — this evening (30th May) at PVR Juhu at the hands of Aamir Khan. It was expected that the trailer would be entertaining, and yes, indeed, the trailer lived up to the expectations.
But more than even the trailer, the vibes at the trailer launch function were so positive that it almost appeared as if the Punjabi film had been released today to great public reports. Whether it was host Chandan Prabhakar or actor Gurpreet Guggi or producer and hero Gippy Grewal, everyone spoke from the heart and won the audience’s hearts. While Chandan Prabhakar, a stand-up comic, kept it funny, Guggi spoke a few lines about each of the persons present on the dais with so much fondness and honesty that one couldn’t help but fall in love with the film, its cast and crew and everyone associated with it. Guggi shocked the invitees when he, with director Smeep Kang’s permission, revealed that when the filmmaker fell on bad times, he sustained himself and his family by opening a bhajia stall outside a railway station! Kang, who spoke sparingly at the function, fought back tears as did several in the auditorium at PVR Juhu when this little-known fact was mentioned.
Aamir Khan wished the unit the very best and rued the fact that he had not seen the first two parts. Said he, “While I was watching the trailer just now, I found it so entertaining that I turned to Gippy and said, ‘I’m not surprised that the first two parts were roaring hits.'”
Carry On Jatta 3 will hit the screens on 29th June.
