CAST & CREDITS DISPLAY NOW COMPULSORY IN LANGUAGE OF FILM DIALOGUES | 10 February, 2021

The ministry of Information and Broadcasting has issued a notification to amend Rule 22 of the Cinematograph (Certification) Rules, 1983 to include a provision that the cast and credits of a film shall be displayed in the language of the dialogues in the film. The same may also be displayed in any other language but displaying in the language of the film’s dialogues is now mandatory. The notification was published in the Gazette of India Extraordinary vide GSR 582(E) on 24th September, 2020.

By implication, it means that a film will be denied certification henceforth if this requirement is not fulfilled.
