In the anticipatory bail plea of celebrity manager Karishma Prakash in the drugs case related to the suicide by Sushant Singh Rajput, the defence on 17th March submitted an application about alleged recordings of a conversation between her and a now suspended officer of the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB). In the conversation, the officer can be heard asking Karishma to change her lawyer or face stringent action under section 27A of the NDPS Act. The defence cited the alleged recordings and their content as additional grounds for seeking relief. The third person in the recordings seems to be the lawyer who the NCB officer was recommending. The court asked the NCB to reply to the plea which will come up for hearing on 23rd March.
Karishma Prakash, erstwhile manager of Deepika Padukone, had first applied for pre-arrest bail on October 31, 2020.
