The Uttar Pradesh government has lifted the lockdown restrictions of Sunday. Following this, cinemas, like other establishments, will now be allowed to function on Sundays. So far, cinemas in the state were allowed to operate for six days a week but had to remain shut every Sunday. By a circular of today (20th August), the lockdown restrictions of Sunday have been eased.
The requirement of observing night curfew etc. remains, though. The last show in cinemas has to be over by 10 p.m. in view of the curfew requirements.
