A special MP-MLA court in Agra on November 12 issued notice to actress and BJP MP Kangana Ranaut, asking her to personally appear on November 28 and reply in a case related to statements against farmers’ movement and Mahatma Gandhi, made by her.
Petitioner Ramashankar Sharma, a farmer’s son, has accused Kangana of “insulting millions of farmers by calling them murderers, rapists and extremists”. He also mentioned the star-MP’s statement, made on November 17, 2021, mocking Mahatma Gandhi’s non-violent principles, and suggesting that “begging yields alms, not freedom”.
