Actress and BJP MP Kangana Ranaut faces a defamation threat by the Congress government in Himachal Pradesh. The public works department minister of Himachal Pradesh, Vikramaditya Singh, on September 23 threatened Kangana of a defamation case against her if she failed to corroborate her statement that the HP government was diverting Central and state funds to Sonia Gandhi. He asked her to either prove her claim or apologise to Gandhi, failing which, he added, he would file a defamation suit against her.
“The Mandi MP is making baseless statements,” said Vikramaditya Singh, adding, “There cannot be a more ridiculous statement than this that the central grants and state’s development funds are being given to Sonia Gandhi.” He remarked that her immature comments showed her “intellectual bankruptcy” and also that she was not much educated, which was time and again reflected in her statements.
