A Delhi court on May 23 allowed Jacqueline Fernandez, one of the accused in the alleged Rs. 200-crore money laundering scam along with Sukesh Chandrasekhar and others, to travel abroad. The court of special judge Shailendra Malik allowed the actress to attend the IIFA Awards ceremony in Dubai from May 25 to 27. The court also allowed her to travel to Italy from May 28 till June 12 for the shooting of an upcoming film.
Jacqueline on May 23 filed an application seeking permission to travel abroad. She appeared before the judge in the Patiala House court.
In January this year, the same court had said that “for the sake of pride of country”, unnecessary restrictions may not be imposed unless required and had allowed Fernandez to travel to Dubai to attend a conference from January 27 to 30.
In May last year, the Delhi high court had granted Jacqueline permission to travel abroad to Abu Dhabi, UAE for IIFA Awards.
Jacqueline was granted bail in the case on November 15, 2022.
