The Delhi high court has issued a public notice inviting suggestions from owners of copyright or broadcasting organisations or radio broadcasters or any other interested persons on the topic of new rates of royalties for the broadcast of sound recordings through FM radio. The suggestions are to be made within 30 days of the public notice, and no further time will be granted for this purpose. The suggestions can be emailed to ipd-copyright@dhc.nic.in
The Delhi high court’s intellectual property division will fix/revise royalties for broadcast of sound recordings through radio, as mandated under section 31D of the Copyright Act, 1957, read with rule 31 of the Copyright Rules, 2013.
