The Enforcement Directorate on August 5 filed an FIR at V.P. Road police station in Bombay against Abdul Kadar Ali Mohamed, an associate and neighbour of late drug smuggler Iqbal Mirchi. The ED claimed that it found last year that Abdul had demolished New Roshan Talkies at Girgaon in Bombay and had tried to sell the plot of land for Rs. 15 crore despite the property being under the agency’s attachment.
The ED’s police complaint accuses Abdul of misusing the agreement of the cinema to transfer the property solely in his name and failing to demonstrate that he had made the necessary payments for its purchase.
