EMPIRE AUDIO CENTRE CONTROVERSY: FIROZ NADIADWALA CALLS OUT TENANT’S BLUFF | 21 July, 2025

Producer Firoz Nadiadwala (in picture), who was on July 18 accused of trying to unlawfully evict the employees of Saroj Entertainment Pvt. Ltd. from the premises of the recording and dubbing studio, has called out the bluff of the complainant. The producer, whose family is in the business of film production since several generations, clarified to Information that nothing of what Bhushan Agrawal and Sunil Singh, manager and director respectively of Saroj Entertainment, have claimed, happened. “It is Saroj Entertainment which is playing dirty games with us,” explained Nadiadwala, emphasising that the company had been occupying the premises on rent illegally as it had not renewed the tenancy agreement since years. This then seems to be a case of the accused playing the victim card. Nadiadwala also clarified that it was an application which was made by Saroj Entertainment to the Amboli police station, not a complaint, asclaimed by them.

In its application to the police, the tenant had mentioned, “We are ready to cooperate fully and provide additional information as required.” The company, nevertheless, enclosed the rent receipt dated 16th July, 2025. The fact that the tenancy agreement was not enclosed in the police application could point to what Nadiadwala is claiming — that there is no subsisting and valid tenancy agreement between Empire and Saroj Entertainment. For, the least a tenant would do is to enclose the tenancy agreement in the application, not just the rent receipt.

Coming to what happened on July 18, Nadiadwala clarified that he was nowhere in the picture, as falsely claimed in the police application. “On that day, my staffer simply told the manager of Saroj Enteratinment to renew the tenancy agreement or vacate the premises, that’s all. And we have been saying this to them since years. There was no goondaism, as wrongly claimed by the manager. What’s more, I was in my office in the same building, I wasn’t even present when this conversation between my staffer and the manager of Saroj Entertainment took place.”
