F.I.R. AGAINST SUSHANT’S SISTERS, CARDIOLOGIST FOR CHEATING, CONSPIRACY | 9 September, 2020

The Bandra (Bombay) police on 7th September registered a case of conspiracy and cheating against two sisters — Priyanka Singh and Meetu Singh — of Sushant Singh Rajput and a Delhi-based cardiologist, Dr. Tarun Kumar. They have been accused of conspiring with one another and giving the late actor anxiety medicines without valid prescription. The FIR also speaks about a fresh allegation by Sushant’s girlfriend, Rhea Chakraborty, that Priyanka and Meetu were the beneficiaries of their brother’s bank account and they wanted to take control of his finances. The trio has been booked for cheating, forgery, criminal conspiracy under the IPC and also under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act as the anxiety drugs fall in the controlled substances category. In line with the Supreme Court order, the case was transferred to the CBI forthwith.

In her complaint, Rhea alleged that Priyanka had texted Sushant the medicine names from Delhi. Since they could not have been purchased without a valid prescription, she sent him a forged prescription electronically, which is prohibited under law. Besides, Sushant was wrongfully shown as an OPD patient in Delhi on 8th June when he was actually in Bombay. Rhea also told the police that Sushant’s manager, Siddharth Pithani, had told her in July that Sushant’s brother-in-law (IPS officer O.P. Singh) had telephoned him and asked him to tell the Bihar police that Rhea had siphoned off money from Sushant’s account. Meanwhile, the forensic auditor appointed by the Enforcement Directorate and the city police had failed to find any fraudulent money transfers from Sushant’s account to Rhea’s account.

Rhea has demanded to know what happened between June 8 (when she left Sushant’s house and shifted to her own house) and 14 (the day Sushant was found dead). She said, Meetu Singh was staying with him till June 12. She has also asked to investigate why Sushant had stopped taking medicines prescribed by five doctors, and the side-effects of the medicines prescribed by the Delhi-based cardiologist through Priyanka.
