A6 Productions’ Fake Boy Friend is the story about a fake love affair. A college girl spreads false stories about dating a notorious trouble-maker. This leads to a break-up between him and his girlfriend. Tensions arise because of this. Obviously, the girl who pretended to be in a relationship, has to bear the consequences of the fallout. What were her motives in faking an affair?
Ranjan Kusugal and Sam D’Souza have penned a story and screenplay, which don’t offer much by way of entertainment. The drama often becomes predictable and loses its grip on the audience’s attention. Dialogues are commonplace.
Saurabh Sharma is below the mark. Upasana Rath is ordinary. Tanishq Shukla is not impressive. Payal Kaushal is dull. Kajal Thakur’s performance is far from being noteworthy. Others barely pass muster.
Sam D’Souza’s direction is weak. Deepak Gupta’s music, and Anju Dhingra’s lyrics are poor. Master VK’s choreography is functional. Tutul Bhattacharya’s background music is hardly effective. Mukesh Tiwari’s camerawork is dull. Raj Shaw’s art direction hardly deserves separate mention. Aniket Ram’s editing is loose.
On the whole, Fake Boy Friend is a flop show all the way.
Released on 21-6-’24 at Movie Time Goregaon (daily 1 show) of Bombay thru Redrasa LLP. Publicity & opening: dull. …….Also released all over. Opening was poor everywhere.
