The Film Federation of India has announced that it has begun accepting applications for deciding on the film which will be India’s entry to the Oscars this year. The submissions can be made from 15th August through 10th September (6 p.m.). Any film released between 1st November, 2023 and 30th September, 2024 will be eligible provided it has been publicly exhibited for at least seven consecutive days in a commercial motion picture theatre.
The jury and its chairman will be announced by FFI president Ravi Kottarakara soon. The final entry, which will go to the Oscars, will be decided by voting by all the jury members after the films have been screened. The film’s name will be announced on 27th September.
