FILM INDUSTRY IGNORED IN UNION BUDGET | 2 February, 2021

The film industry, reeling under losses due to the pandemic lockdown, was in for a shock yesterday (February 1) when it found no mention whatsoever in the budget proposals presented in Parliament by finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman. The film industry was hoping that the government would give it concessions to get back on track after the lockdown. When that did not happen, it was hoping that the BJP government would at least be considerate towards the film industry in the Union Budget proposals. But that was also not to be.
