Filmmaker, writer, producer Sanoj Mishra was arrested on March 30 in connection with a rape case in Ghaziabad. His arrest came after the Delhi high court rejected his bail application.
The 45-year-old Sanoj was apprehended by the Delhi police following intelligence gathering and technical surveillance. After his arrest in Ghaziabad, he was taken into custody by the Nabi Karim police station.
Among the films directed by Sanoj is the recently-released The Diary Of West Bengal.
A 28-year-old woman from a small town has accused Sanoj Mishra of repeatedly raping her over a period of four years. An aspiring actress, she claimed to have been in a live-in relationship with him in Bombay. The victim claimed that he had promised to marry her but later went back on his word. Sanoj is a married man.
