The Indie Farm and Wolfcrow’s Gin Ke Dus (A) is a murder mystery.
A killer (Avinash Gupta) murders two people — a young man (Avinash Gupta again) and an old man (Kailash Pal) — in a farmhouse. While he buries the body of the old man, he asks Scholar (Himanshu Shekhar) to dump the other body too. But before Scholar can dump the other body, Attika (Trishna Goswami) arrives there in an autorickshaw. And so, Scholar hides the body of the young man in the car boot. Attika informs Scholar that Shyali’s (Trishna Goswami again) three friends would be coming to the farmhouse. The three friends — Hottie (Sanjana Deshmukh), Girlfriend (Anika Arya) and Roundo (Akshay Ravi) — arrive and mistake Scholar for Attika’s husband. Before the arrival of the three friends, the killer murders Attika. And before killing Attika, he kills the autorickshaw driver (Aniket Jadhav). The killer and Scholar go to the house of the farmhouse’s caretaker (Zahid Ahmed Khan).
Shyali arrives and along with her three friends, sets out in search of her sister, Attika. She sends two friends — Roundo and Girlfriend — to the caretaker’s home. By then, the killer has murdered Scholar. Shyali and the other friend, Hottie, go further in search of Attika. Soon, Shyali reveals to Hottie that she is actually Attika. So, effectively, Attika and Hottie are searching for Shyali who, actually, was murdered by the killer at the farmhouse itself. Attika shows her husband’s body (kept in the car boot) to Hottie. When they cannot locate Shyali, the two come to the caretaker’s house where the killer has already murdered Roundo, Girlfriend and the caretaker one by one. The killer now reveals to Attika and Hottie about why he is on a killing spree. He then murders Hottie too.
Who is the killer? Who are the young and the old man who are first murdered by the killer at the farmhouse? Is the killer related to them? What is his motive in killing so many people? What happens to the two persons — Attika and the killer — who are alive in the end.
Sareesh Sudhakaran has written such a weird story that it hardly makes sense. His screenplay is pathetic. Why the identity of the killer is hidden at times is not clear. The motive of the murderer is revealed so late in the day that by then, the audience have died of boredom. Even the double roles of the killer and the young man murdered by him, as also of Attika and Shyali serve no special purpose. Even the confusion about Attika and Shyali is senseless. Amjad Ali’s dialogues are dull.
Avinash Gupta does an ordinary job as the killer and as Attika’s husband. He doesn’t even look like a hero. Trishna Goswami is average as Attika and Shyali. Himanshu Shekhar is okay as Scholar. Sanjana Deshmukh does an average job as Hottie. Anika Arya is routine as Girlfriend. Akshay Ravi is dull as Roundo. Zahid Ahmed Khan barely passes muster as the caretaker. Aniket Jadhav hardly gets any scope as the autorickshaw driver. Kailash Pal (as the old man who is murdered) and Muskan Khurana (as the mystery woman) hardly deserve mention.
Sareesh Sudhakaran’s direction is weak. His music is poor while his background score is okay. His camerawork is average. His editing is loose. Hanif Shaikh’s action and stunts are devoid of thrill.
On the whole, Gin Ke Dus is a poor show all the way, and will meet with a disastrous fate.
