GOVT.-CONTROLLED LOCATIONS IN MAHARASHTRA NOW AVAILABLE FOR FREE FOR FILM SHOOTINGS | 17 March, 2024

The Maharashtra state cabinet on March 16 decided to offer government-controlled locations for film shootings free of charge. Minister Sudhir Mungantiwar presented the proposal, emphasising the need to create a conducive atmosphere for film production. The meeting highlighted the government’s recognition of the substantial costs involved in filmmaking and its commitment to support the industry.

In this way, the state government also aims to promote tourism, preserve cultural heritage and stimulate socio-economic growth. Initiatives like the above underscore the government’s proactive approach in fostering a thriving film ecosystem in the state, with the ultimate goal of cementing Maharashtra’s status as the premiere destination for Bollywood and global film productions.
