The Andheri (Bombay) magistrate court in Bombay on January 15 granted police time to conduct an inquiry and file a report in Javed Akhtar’s complaint of defamation against Kangana Ranaut. The actress had in June made allegedly defamatory statements against the writer-lyricist-poet on a national TV news channel in the aftermath of Sushant Singh Rajput’s demise. The plea will be heard on February 1.
