‘HIS STORY OF ITIHAAS’ REVIEW | 30 May, 2025

Panchkarma Productions’ His Story Of Itihaas (UA) is the true story of a teacher of Physics. The Physics teacher stands up to question the distorted version of history taught to us since generations in schools. The Physics teacher digs out the fallacies in History lessons imparted to students. But nothing comes out of his efforts.

Manpreet Singh Dhami’s story is not at all engaging. His screenplay is slow-moving and often appears contrived. Consequently, the drama doesn’t appeal to the audience. Since the Physics teacher doesn’t succeed in changing anything, the drama looks even more worthless. Dhami’s dialogues are ordinary.

Subodh Bhave is fair in the role of Namit Sir. Akanksha Pandey’s acting, as Namit’s wife, Kanchan, is okay. Kisha Arora lends ordinary support as Riya. Yogendra Tiku is alright as Kamal. Ankur Vikal is fair as Ishaan. Sachin K. Jaryal (as Ashish), Vasanti Sundaram (as Chhaya), Sandeep Yadav (as Vikash), Yuvraj Singh (as Shashank), Udayveer Singh (as Vikas’ father), Abhishek Singh (as Faraaz), Naval Kishore (as Dinesh), Priti Chauhan (as the History teacher), Namya Saxena (as Kavita), Rajeev Bhatnagar (as Namit mama), Ananya Singh (as Vikas’ wife), Anand Prakash (as Vikas’ relative), Ashutosh Priyadarshi (as the secretary), Garima Kapoor (as Naubita), Matri Bawa (as Naubita’s friend), Marie (as Adriana), Shakti Mishra (as Panditji), Amit Singh (as the gymkhana manager), Puran Rajpal and Yogendra Srivastava (both as maulanas), Ramdeen Mishra (as the guard), and Jay Amice (as Raju) do routine jobs. Others pass muster.

Manpreet Singh Dhami’s direction is below the mark. Manpreet Singh Dhami’s music and lyrics are functional. Advait Sawant’s background music is commonplace. Camerawork (by Vinod Patil) is dull. Sachin Patil’s art direction is ordinary. B. Mahanteshwar’s editing leaves a lot to be desired.

On the whole, His Story Of Itihaas is a weak fare.

Released on 30-5-’25 at Metro Inox (daily 1 show) and other cinemas of Bombay thru Red Eye Studio. Publicity & opening: poor. …….Also released all over. Opening was dull everywhere.
