Home minister Amit Shah met the cast and crew of The Kashmir Files at his residence in Delhi on March 16. Producer-director Vivek Agnihotri, producer Abhishek Agarwal, Anupam Kher and Pallavi Joshi called on the home minister. A day earlier, PM Narendra Modi endorsed the film and said that the content of the film had rattled the opposition parties.
Meanwhile, Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav took a swipe at the full-throttle endorsement of the film by the BJP leaders and wondered aloud that if The Kashmir Files can be made, why not a film called Lakhimpur Files to portray the violence in Lakhimpur Kheri.
