The Oshiwara (Bombay) police on 23rd December arrested Noorah Sarwar, a 39-year-old marketing executive from Hyderabad, for allegedly stalking and posting abusive sexual content and rape threats to actress-singer Zara Khan on the latter’s Instagram account from different accounts between October 28 and November 3. Zara is the daughter of actress-singer Salma Agha.
Noorah told the police, she committed the offence after Zara blocked her on Instagram. She also said, she suspected Zara of breaking her engagement. She added that she was a messenger of God. Noorah has also been accused of allegedly posting threat messages to actor-model Kushal Tandon, actor Ajaz Khan and some others.
After tracking Noorah in Hyderabad on November 28, the Oshiwara police on December 5 issued her a notice to present herself at the police station. Two more notices were sent to her when she did not turn up. The police also seized her phone. She finally came to Bombay on 23rd December and was arrested. Noorah was produced before the Andheri metropolitan magistrate court on 24th. The court remanded her to police custody till 26th (today).
