‘IMAMDASTA’ REVIEW | 23 February, 2024

Released last week in U.P. (at Lucknow and Kanpur), Noorjahan Moving Images’ Imamdasta (UA) is the story of two terrorists who visit two men who live together.

Rizwan Siddiqui has pieced together a story by trying to add dashes of comedy, romance and drama, but hardly succeeds. His screenplay appears disjointed. His dialogues are below the mark.

Saharsh Kumar Shukla does an ordinary job. Rakesh Sharma is so-so. Jayshankar Pandey acts in a routine manner. Raju Pandey is average. Sandeep Yadav is not quite impressive. Jagatpati Pandey barely passes muster. Abhijeet Sarkar is okay.

Rizwan Siddiqui’s direction is rather weak. Vicky Prasad’s music is dull. Lyrics (by Rizwan Siddiqui) are functional. Background music (by Sandeep Goswami and Abhishek Mahavir) is below the mark. Saurabh Vishwakarma’s camerawork is dull. Rishi Kumar’s production designing hardly deserves mention. Ashwini Singh and Sushil Prajapati’s editing is loose.

On the whole, Imamdasta is a poor fare.
