IMPPA EXPOSES FWICE, FILES POLICE COMPLAINT AGAINST ASSOCIATION | 6 December, 2021

The Indian Motion Picture Producers’ Association has filed a complaint with the Amboli (Bombay) police against the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE), exposing its claim that it had acquired land for construction of houses for its members. The IMPPA initiated action because it came across some pamphlets and social media advertisements, issued by the FWICE, claiming that it had acquired 253 acres of land in Karjat (district Raigad), opposite Shelu Station for constructing 50,000 houses on it for employees working in the film industry.

On enquiries, the Tehsildar and executive magistrate of Karjat clarified to IMPPA that not even an inch of land had been purchased by the FWICE.
