The Indian Motion Picture Producers’ Association (IMPPA) has succeeded in getting a Film Promotion Policy passed by the Bihar government. Under the Policy, films, TV serials and web series shot in the state will be eligible for concessions, benefits and subsidies.
IMPPA president Abhay Sinha, members of its executive committee and IMPPA members have thanked Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar for formulating the Policy. They have also thanked Vijay Kumar Sinha, minister of art, culture and youth affairs department, and Harjot Kaur, additional chief secretary of the said department. The decision is the culmination of persistent efforts and numerous appeals made by IMPPA to the Bihar government to address the challenges faced by producers when shooting in the state and to promote Bihar as the preferred destination of film producers.
On an invitation by Harjot Kaur, IMPPA president Abhay Sinha, senior vice president Sushama Shiromanee and Film Makers Combine (FMC) general secretary Nishant Ujjwal met with her in Patna on 2nd February this year to finalise the Film Policy.
