More than 4,000 screens in India will celebrate the National Cinema Day on 16th September by offering every film for just Rs. 75. PVR, Inox, Cinepolis, Carnival, Miraj, City Pride, Asian, Mukta A2, Movietime, Wave, M2K, Delite and many other cinemas and cinema chains will be celebrating the National Cinema Day with the concessional offer.
The Day will celebrate the successful reopening of cinemas after the Coronavirus pandemic lockdowns. It is the exhibition sector’s way of thanking moviegoers who made this happen.
The inspiration for celebrating the National Cinema Day has come from from Hollywood which is celebrating/celebrated the Day today (3rd September) by offering each film at a fixed ticket price of $3 in the USA, and £3 in the UK and Ireland.
India has a thriving domestic film industry and has seen one of the sharpest recoveries in the film exhibition business when compared to other exhibition businesses the world over.
