Sanju Entertainment’s Jeta (Marathi; UA) is the story of a young man who fights all obstacles in life to become very successful. It is inspired by the true-life story of Sanjay Yadav.
Sanjay (Nitish Chavan) meets with an accident while he is a college student, because of which one of his hands is impaired. His girlfriend, Sneha (Snehal Deshmukh), marries him in spite of family opposition, because of which her relations with her family are strained. Anyway, Sanjay soon climbs the ladder of success. But he is unhappy about the fact that wife Sneha’s family has not forgiven her. As luck would have it, calamity befalls the family of one of Sneha’s brothers. What is Sanjay’s stance at this juncture?
Sanjay Laxmanrao Yadav’s story may be somewhat interesting but, at the same time, it lacks novelty. One has seen such stories in many earlier films. The screenplay, written by Sanjay Laxmanrao Yadav, Yogesh Sabnis and Yogesh Sahebrao Mahajan, also beats the treaden path and is, therefore, very predictable. Consequently, emotions are not too strong. Sanjay Laxmanrao Yadav and Yogesh Sabnis’ dialogues are so-so.
Nitish Chavan does an average job as Sanjay. Snehal Deshmukh is okay in the role of Sneha. Sharad Goyekar lends fair support as Santosh. Aniket Kelkar is alright as Sneha’s brother, Jaydev. Pradnya Sonawane-Dawre is ordinary as Pranali. Kunal Meshram, Deepak Taware, Praveen Indu, Gautam Shirasath and Shreya Kulkarni lend routine support.
Yogesh Sahebrao Mahajan’s direction doesn’t really add much to the very routine drama. Kabir Shakya’s music is so-so. Lyrics (Sachin Bagul, Sanjay Laxmanrao Yadav and Yogesh Sahebrao Mahajan) are alright. Song picturisations (Nody Rasal and Chini Chetan) are nothing to shout about. Kabir Shakya and Sunil Khatre’s background music is functional. Aniket K.’s cinematography is fair. Shankar Patekar’s action scenes are average. Nandu Moharkar’s art direction is so-so. Editing (Harshad Vaiti) leaves something to be desired.
On the whole, Jeta is so ordinary that it will not be able to do anything worthwhile at the box-office.
