Leading Nizam and Andhra distributor Kamalakar (G.K.) Reddy passed away this morning (19th August) around 3 a.m. in a car accident. He was travelling with his father from Nellore to Hyderabad as the father had tested COVID-19 positive and he had to be hospitalised. The driver probably fell asleep at the wheel and collided head-on with a truck. Both, Kamalakar and his father, died instantly.
Kamalakar Reddy, who was in his fifties, was partner in KFC Entertainment, Secunderabad. He had started his distribution concern with Viacom18’s Tanu Weds Manu in 2011. He distributed many Telugu, Hindi and dubbed Hindi films. He was the regular Nizam and Andhra distributor of films produced by Viacom18 and produced/dubbed by Warner Bros. Among the Telugu films his firm had distributed were blockbusters Arjun Reddy and Agent Sai Srinivasa Athreya.
Kamalakar Reddy was an extremely nice human being and endeared himself to whomever he came in touch with.
