KANGANA RECORDS STATEMENT, SAYS SHE’S BEING TORTURED | 9 January, 2021

Kangana Ranaut and her sister, Rangoli Chandel, recorded their statements with the Bandra (Bombay) police in a sedition case, on January 8. The sedition case was filed on orders of a Bandra court on October 16, 2020, after Bollywood casting director and fitness trainer Munawwar Ali Sayyed filed a complaint that Kangana had defamed the Hindi film industry by portraying Bollywood as a hub of nepotism, prostitution, drugs and murders.

The two sisters were summoned in October and November last year but they said, they were busy. They had filed a petition before the Bombay high court to quash the FIR against them. While granting them interim protection, the court asked them to remain present at the Bandra police station on January 8. Before reaching the police station to record her statement, Kangana tweeted a video stating that she was targeted for expressing her opinion on issues related to the country’s welfare. The summary of her video was that she was being tortured for her forthrightness.
