Kannada film producer-actor Ramu died today (26th April) in M.S. Ramaiah Hospital in Bangalore due to COVID-related complications. He was 52 and was the husband of Kannada film actress Malashree. Among the films produced by Ramu were AK 47, Lockup Death, CBI Durga,Kalasipalya and Ganga. In all, he had produced around 37 films. Among the films he had acted in were Simha and Arjun Gowda.
Ramu was the first producer to produce a Kannada film with a budget of more than Rs. 1 crore because of which he came to be known as Koti Ramu (or Crorepati Ramu).
