A.A. Chavan Movies’ Lahar (Marathi; UA) is a love story. Shyam (Bhushan Kate) loves Sapna (Shruti Pawar). They elope as there’s opposition to their marriage.
Appa Chavan has penned an absolutely routine story which has no novelty whatsoever. Sameer Mane’s screenplay is so predictable that one can close one’s eyes while ‘watching’ the film and yet miss nothing. His dialogues are ordinary.
Bhushan Kate is no hero material. Shruti Pawar does an ordinary job. Others barely pass muster.
Shashikant Mena’s direction is pretty weak. Anand Oak’s music is below the mark. Lyrics (Sameer Mane and Anand Oak) are ordinary. Deepak Nanaware’s song picturisations are not even average. A. Rehman Shaikh’s camerawork is dull. Om Bhende’s art direction hardly deserves mention. Kamal Sehgal’s editing leaves a lot to be desired.
On the whole, Lahar is a flop fare.
Released on 24-6-’22 at PVR Xperia Dombivli (daily 1 show) and other cinemas of Bombay thru Trikona Pictures. Publicity & opening: very poor.
