LANDSLIDE VICTORY FOR CHOWKSEY PANEL IN CCCA ELECTIONS: LOKENDRA JAIN ELECTED PRESIDENT | 26 September, 2021

All the 16 seats of the executive committee of the Central Circuit Cine Association have been bagged by the Chowksey Panel. None of the four candidates of the Satyavan Pareek-led Opposition Panel, who contested from the Rajasthan division, could win. All the independent candidates also lost the elections which were held yesterday (25th September) after the 68th annual general meeting of the CCCA. A total of 174 votes were polled at the elections which were an extremely tame affair. Of these, 21 were declared invalid. Therefore, there were a total of 153 valid votes polled.

At the first meeting of the newly-elected executive committee, Lokendra Jain (in picture above) was unanimously elected president. It may be mentioned here that Lokendra Jain had contested the elections from the C.P. Berar Distribution Section. He, as also two other members — Sharang Chandak and Vinod Bhandari — of the Chowksey panel were elected unopposed as all the others from that Section (who were contesting as independent candidates) withdrew from the fray before the elections. The independents who withdrew were Anil Rathi, Pramodkumar Munot and Vipin L. Sharma.

Basant Kumar Laddha was elected vice president. Kailashchand Sharma and Shantilal Lunkad were elected honorary secretary and honorary treasurer respectively.

Those elected to the executive committee (number of votes polled are given in brackets) for 2021-23 were as follows:

C.P. Berar Distribution Section: Lokendra Jain, Sharang Chandak, Vinod Bhandari. All three were declared elected unopposed.
